Lake Como water taxi

A private water taxi on Lake Como costs from €300 for the whole boat for one hour, with a local captain and fuel included. It picks you up at the public pier of your village, takes you where you want to go, and can turn the transfer into a short tour on the way.

A taxi, but on the water

Roads around the lake are narrow and slow in summer, and the public ferries run on a timetable. A private water taxi leaves when you are ready, carries only your group and goes straight to the pier you need: a restaurant in Bellagio, your hotel in Tremezzo, a wedding venue in Cernobbio.

02

Which boat

Most of our water taxis are Venetian-style wooden boats for up to 11 guests (the largest takes 16). For smaller groups there are open motorboats, and for a special arrival a classic Riva or a Saxdor.

03

How the price works

You pay for the boat, not per person, by the hour: €300 for 1 hour, €600 for 2 hours. Como adds €20; Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna add €50 for the longer trip. The calculator shows the total before you book.

04

Book in two minutes

Choose the pier, the time and the boat type on this page. You pay the booking fee online and the rest on board; a captain based close to your pier confirms by email.

Good questions.

Is a water taxi faster than the ferry?

Usually yes: it goes straight to your pier without intermediate stops and leaves when you want.

Can the water taxi wait for us?

Yes. The time it waits counts as time on the boat, so book enough hours for the whole outing.

Can we book a one-way transfer?

The minimum is 1 hour of boat time, which covers most one-way transfers in the central lake.

Do you pick up from hotels?

We pick up at public piers. Several lakeside hotels have their own landing: write it in the booking notes and the captain will confirm.
