Villa Carlotta by boat

Villa Carlotta is the large villa with terraced gardens in Tremezzo, on the western shore of Lake Como, open to visitors as a museum and botanical garden. From a private boat you see it whole, with the staircases going down to the water. It is on the route of our Grand Lake Como tour, 6 hours for €1,350.

Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo
01

What makes it special

The villa is famous for its gardens, at their best in spring when the azaleas and rhododendrons flower, and for the art collection inside. From the lake you understand why it was built where it is: facing Bellagio across the water.

02

Visiting

Villa Carlotta is open most of the year with its own tickets and opening times: check them on the villa's website. The boat can drop you at Tremezzo pier, a short walk from the entrance.

Which tour

From Tremezzo, Lenno or Menaggio any tour passes in front of it. From Como or Cernobbio choose Grand Lake Como (6 hours) or the full day.

Good questions.

Can we combine Villa Carlotta and Bellagio?

Yes, they face each other: with Grand Lake Como you see both and can stop in Bellagio.

When are the gardens most beautiful?

In April and May, when the azaleas and rhododendrons are in flower.
