A small island with a long history
In the Middle Ages the island was a fortified refuge, destroyed in the 12th century in the wars between Como and Milan. Today you can walk among the ruins of its churches, surrounded by olive trees.
Isola Comacina is the only island of Lake Como, in front of Ossuccio and Sala Comacina on the western shore. It has the ruins of medieval churches and a historic restaurant, and is reachable only by boat. Our private tours pass it together with Villa del Balbianello, from €800 for the whole boat.

Villas and Balbianello, 3 hours: an example route. It changes with your pier, the weather and what you want to see.

The Locanda dell'Isola Comacina has served the same menu for decades. Booking is essential: tell us in the notes and the captain will drop you at the island and pick you up.
The tour continues to Villa del Balbianello, a few minutes away, and from the centre of the lake you can add Villa Carlotta and Bellagio.
