The Nesso waterfall on Lake Como

The Nesso waterfall, known as the Orrido di Nesso, is a narrow gorge where two mountain streams meet and fall into Lake Como, under an old stone bridge. You see it best from the water: our private tours from 2 hours stop in front of it, from €600 for the whole boat.

01

Where it is

Nesso is a village on the eastern shore of the Como branch, between Torno and Bellagio. The gorge opens right at the water's edge, below the houses of the village, and is crossed by the old Civera bridge.

02

Why from the boat

From land, the gorge is reached by long flights of steps. From a boat you stop right in front of it and see the water falling into the lake, the bridge and the village above in one view. The flow is strongest after rain.

03

Tours that stop at Nesso

The Classic, 2 hours for €600, combines Nesso with George Clooney's villa and Villa Pliniana. Villas and city, 3 hours, continues to Villa del Balbianello. Every longer tour includes it too.
