Varenna is a village of coloured houses stacked along the water, on the eastern shore facing Bellagio. Villa Monastero, a former convent with gardens along the lake, sits right in the village and is best seen from the boat.
Grand Lake Como runs through the first basin, past Villa d'Este, Moltrasio and Laglio, then the Nesso waterfall, Villa del Balbianello and Villa Carlotta, before Bellagio and Varenna. The full-day Iconic Tour also stops ashore in both villages.
